Alta Badia's nature parks
The large natural treasures of the Dolomites
Val Badia, just like Alta Badia is home to two UNESCO World Natural Heritage sites. They are the Puez-Geisler and Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature parks. Landscape rich in variety and morphology, these two natural areas protect places of rare beauty.
The Fanes-Sennes-Prags nature park is a nature park rich in vegetation and fauna. It is also home to several streams and alpine lakes such as Lè Vërt, the Lè de Limo and the notable Prags lake. Over the course of the years with the melting of the snow, the water eroding through the rocks moulded fascinating shapes into the rocks which are clearly visible on the Fanes plateau.
On the other hand, the Puez-Geisler nature park has a landscape that is much more gloomy with the prevalence of rockiness and geological formations. There's no need to mention the geological site that is the Dolomites for its extraordinary variety in geological formations in existence.
Both parks in Alta Badia are ideal places to practice sporty activities of all types. Hiking, Nordic walking, climbing, ski tours and snow-shoe hiking are just some examples.
